Don & Mike
Birth of “In Wheel Time®”
- Houston needed a radio “car show” that was about more than “how to fix up an old car with cheap parts.”
- We wanted to produce a program that featured upgraded industry content from different automotive sectors and covered topics nobody else talks about like motorcycles, ATV’s and personal watercraft.
- This type of fresh perspective would broaden the listening audience, providing our advertisers with greater opportunities to reach a more diverse, upscale audience for their products and services.
- And that’s how “In Wheel Time” was born.

He helped form a local Corvette Club, attends local and national motorsports events and car shows of all types while still wrenching at home in his garage
While anchoring the morning news on the local NBC TV affiliate, Don was asked to report on new cars in a segment called “What’s Don Driving?” The quarterly feature drew rave reviews and solidified Don’s rapport with the auto industry and Houston area viewers alike.
