Today’s In Wheel Time will include live reports from the Oil Field Helping Hands Car Show. This big cruise-in will benefit the men & women of the oil patch that have hit hard times through no fault of their own. Our Mike Marrs will be reporting from the show.
Some of the finest hot rods, street cars, retro rods and show cars will be on display in Minute Maid Park parking lots B & C and everyone is invited free of charge. $10 dollar a plate B-B-Q will be cooked on-site and you can enjoy live entertainment featuring several bands. The NHRA’s latest Pro Stock event winner, Erica Enders, will be on hand to sign autographs and talk to In Wheel Time listeners and Don & Mike will be there too, right after today’s radio show.
Speaking of In Wheel Time, today’s 3-hour broadcast will include reviews of the 2013 VW Jetta Hybrid, Hyundai Sante Fe Sport and the GMC Acadia Denali. Officer John Sampa with the Texas Department of Public Safety will be in the studio to answer questions about new laws for 2013 and any questions you may have too.
The head of Jeep Brand will give us the status of his company and where it’s going and Mike Herzing will talk maintenance and repair.

Can you believe? We made is past 12-21-12 and looks like we’re actually going to see 2013 – at least that’s the hope for all of our In Wheel Time followers.
Even though 2/3rds of tomorrow show will be preempted for a Rice Football bowl game, your In Wheel Time hosts, Don Armstrong and Mike Herzing, will be broadcasting live from the Yahoo! Sports Radio studios from 9 AM to 10 AM. We’d like to think of it as our New Year diet that won’t last – we’ll be back with a three hour show on January 5th.

HOUSTON Nov. 20, 2012 A collection of feature cars will add some high octane spice to the 53rd Annual O Reilly Auto Parts AutoRama in Houston over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Three generations of the iconic Batmobile, along with a collection of exotics, custom rods competitions, unique exhibits and celebrities will take the George R. Brown Convention Center by storm from Friday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 25. One of the largest and longest running auto shows in the U.S., the Houston AutoRama also includes the Kruse Collector Car Auction, live music and celebrity autograph sessions.
The Houston AutoRama combines high profile national feature cars with some of the best custom vehicles from the region, said Peter A. Toundas, CEO of Championship Auto Show. This year, we arranged for a display of the iconic Batmobiles, as well as some of the most impressive cars in our history. This amazing show will be the perfect complement for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
One of the most popular attractions this year will be the Tribute to the Batmobile display with three generations of the iconic vehicles. The collection ranges from 1966 version piloted by Adam West and Burt Ward in the TV series to one seen in the Batman 1989 film and the formidable Tumbler model that appeared in Christopher Nolan s Batman Begins.
Traditionalists will flock to the AutoRama 1960 Ol Skook Rodz display. The Outkasts Car Club has arranged a fantastic exhibit of feature custom cars and bikes, as well hot rod culture. Other features will include the Street Truck Magazine Shootout, exhibiting late model, classic, lifted and mini trucks. This year will even include an outdoor AutoRama during Friday and Saturday with over 200 custom cars on the Avenue de Las Americas while the celebrated monster truck Bigfoot will crush cars all weekend long.
For those interested in the process behind these cars, we re duplicating Gene Winfield s All American Chop Shop right inside of the show, added Toundas. The legendary customizer will chop tops, bend metal and work his magic during live demonstrations so the public can see how rolling works of art are made.
After viewing this year s featured lineup, guests can check out special exhibits including the three days of Bigfoot Monster Truck Car Crushing demonstrations, car hopping competitions, the sport bike action thrill show and RC Drag Racing.

Texas Auto Writers Name Winners in Annual Hill Country Event
Houston’s only LIVE source for everything automotive, In Wheel Time, will bring you all of the results from the Texas Truck Rodeo, held last weekend at the Kinnebe Ranch, just north of San Antonio, Texas.
Contributing to the In Wheel Time analysis will be the President-elect of the Texas Auto Writers Association, Mike Marrs, along with the outgoing President, Mike Herzing. Host and Presidential Debate Moderator, Don Armstrong will butt in, ask irrelevant questions and make a total ass of himself in front of a national audience – just like the other loser news anchors did is recent political debates – except this will be about trucks and SUV’s.
Making guest appearances on the show will be Jim Morrison, Director of the Jeep Brand and Bob Hegbloom, Director of the Ram Brand. You’ll hear straight from the horses’ mouths how the teams at both companies continue to battle – and win – award after award for each of their respective models.
We’ll also discuss the other categories of vehicles that garnered other prestigious awards, and give you specific voting number for each. If you’re in the market for a truck, SUV or crossover, this in the one show you do not want to miss.

In Wheel Time Brings a Motoring Mashup to the Air This Saturday
What exactly IS a mashup? Think of it as Julia Child’s greatest pot of mashed potatoes ever cooked, with “special” secret ingredients that only those who listen will be able to recreate in their own kitchens (garages).
New vehicle reviews will be the main ingredient in the first two hours beginning at 9:00 AM. Mike Herzing just returned from a Buick love-fest with the Verano and Mike “out-of-this-world” Marrs will report on the Ford Flex. Herzing will also give you his take on the Acura RDX and I’ll have a report on the 2013 Ford F-150 King Ranch.
Each of those reports will be accompanied by interviews with their respective manufacturers and a local dealer, so you’ll hear a true, complete report on each one including what options your neighbors are buying.
The second to the last oval track race of the season will be a big one at Houston Motorsports Park Saturday night. Vice President and General Manager John Mandabach will join us to tell you what will make this a history making event.
